POSTER GRAND PRIZE WINNING ENTRY FROM 2008-09 - "Peace Begins With Me"
Guidelines
The Lions Club annually sponsors the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.
The theme of the 2009-10 Peace Poster Contest is
"The Power of Peace".
Participants may use any of a variety of mediums, including markers, crayon, pencil,
charcoal and paint etc. to express the theme.
Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible.
All entries must be submitted by October 2009.
Judging
Twenty-four international finalists will be selected -
one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners
- each poster judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of
the theme.
Awards
One international grand prize winner will receive a trip to a special award ceremony at Lions Day with the United Nations
in New York City. During the ceremony, the winning artist will receive an engraved plaque and a cash
prize of US$2,500.
Each of the 23 merit award winners will receive a cash award of US$500 and a certificate
of achievement.

LIONS INTERNATIONAL PEACE POSTER CONTEST RULES
- Entries not featuring an official sticker on
the back (available with $10 entry kit) or meeting the rules listed below will be disqualified:
- Artwork must be:
- no smaller than: 13" × 20" (33 centimeters by 50 centimeters)
and
- no larger than: 20" × 24" (50 centimeters by 60 centimeters).
- Only 1 entry per student, and each entry must be the original work of only one student.
- All media are accepted (Note: Chalk, charcoal and pastel entries should be sealed
with a fixative spray to prevent smearing ).
- Do not mat, frame, glue, staple or attach anything to the artwork.
- Duplicate, laminated or 3-dimensional artwork will not be accepted.
- Lettering or numbering on the front of the poster, in any language, is not allowed.
- All artist signatures or initials should be written on the back of the poster.
- Artwork should be done on a flexible material, so it can be rolled for
shipping in a mailing tube.
Do not fold poster.
